A global and an eternal symbol

Beyond the myth;  A global and an eternal symbol: the rhombus or diamond, the ◊-shape

The rhombus (or lozenge, diamond, kite) shape consists of two triangles, one downward (Yin) and one upward pointed (Yang), joined together. It is found within the subsequent cultures and communities of our global world, often together with other geometrical depictions and it refers to the same notion everywhere. This geometric symbol represents the inner focus that a human being needs to hold onto his life task during his life time on Earth. That task was and remains to this very day  to reinstall balance within self between the Yin and Yang energy aspects that make up every human being and to reflect that inner balance into the outer world. When the geometric shape of the rhombus appears a significant change is installed within the consciousness of a human being; one that supersedes the limited ego-self of the human personality and that acts for the benefit of all people.

In other words: a male being needs to balance his Yang self with his inner Yin energies and a female being needs to balance her  Yin self with her Yang aspects of self.  Both sexes though and this has been the cause of great misunderstanding between the sexes, have come into this world as ego personalities (Yang aspect) that have free choice whether to add to negativity in self or positivity in self or in walking a middle path. The task of a life time is to explore the subconscious, unconscious as well as the conscious inner landscape of self, the three dimensions within which the ego personality functions as a mind construct. These dimensions hide the thought constructs upon which we have built our personalities or characters and that keep us enslaved to a version of self that hides our authentic self. In order for us to gain access again to this inner Core we have to seek for the motives upon which we act (out) in our daily existence. Both sexes however are  (this is vital) absolutely equal to each other in this process of digging up what is hidden beneath our socially stratified personalities. Both need to surrender their Yang to the Yin aspect of self. As such the reason for being on Earth for humanity is to UNVEIL the Yin-aspect of self.

All cultures, remote in time and space, have always known about this goal of mankind which is the very reason for our coming into this world and this knowledge has since been expressed through symbolism depicted on rocks, caves, buildings, artifacts etc.. World  religions have been built upon this knowledge but were they able to give us the whole pictures of ourselves? Has fear for an outward projected divine male figure prevented us from connecting to this inner treasure? And what would be the connection then between this fear for a male god and the lesser status of women within the current religions? The art of maintaining balance within once used to be a sacred duty of every human being, whether male or female and it has always been a very self-empowering tool innate in mankind…..

The very fact that this task of balancing the inner polarity within the human ego (lower triangle) is a universal human task, is the explanation for the rhombus shape appearing all over our globe and in all times. Within the present day religions some of them have survived but their true meaning has faded away from our consciousness as we have lost our ability to connect with, to “read” the energetic signatures of symbols. Symbols, esp. geometric symbols emit a frequency that can evoke within the physical expression of a human being this innate ability to re-connect with the lost knowledge of Truth of mankind. The loss of this ability is directly connected to the imbalance within our inner beings between the Yin/Yang polarity and this imbalance has thus been reflected for eons of time into our outer world. The results hereof are seen throughout our world and the times have now come that mankind will awaken from this energetic “sleep” and remembers the human task of restoring inner and outer balance, because we can!

The rhombus or diamond shape represents the ideal of a human being that has achieved this inner balance within self and has focused throughout his life on revealing or un-veiling his unconscious, veiled Yin polarity. This inner process of unveiling the authentic Self requires self-honesty and perseverance and will lead down into the crevices of humanities sub- and unconscious realms . Here will be known that Yin and Yang are a part of each other and cannot create without each other; they are one of a kind! Yang is not worth more than Yin, positive is not better than negative but accepting, embracing and embodying both in self and then acting (negative, creation) from that balance within is where the human creation adds to the best of possibilities for our world. We all have different roles to play but it is our individual responsibility (however difficult that may be) to act from inner balance. So, maintaining this inner balance cannot be achieved by taking on a new dogma that tells one to be “positive” as in this way an imbalance is created and inner clarity takes on the color of the “positive” which pushes the negative pole into unconsciousness. As the negative pole is the creative principle the act that follows will be based upon unconscious motives, f.e. the dogma that states that one has to be “positive” hides the fear of being/feeling “negative”, social fear; it becomes the fear of feeling the inner “dark” self. Then we might create from the ego will that is not based upon the clarity of the inner awareness of self and chooses self-interest as its focus. As soon as one is willing to dig up these unconscious (negative) images and hidden motives that are protected by the ego part of the Mind, there is a possibility of touching on the subconscious layers and a creative impulse can be released. That impulse may enter this world as a painting, a song, a revealing insight about the reality, an act of benevolence towards another person or any other creative image within the interior of the human being. An imbalanced ego self though functions as a tight lid that prevents higher creative impulses from surfacing.

Is the rhomboid shape just a fancy shape that appears “by incident” all over the globe? Is there no “proof” that this symbol represents the ideal of achieving a change of consciousness towards the good for all? Does this pre-monotheistic symbol refer to an inner experience of the Divine that got lost with the arrival of patriarch dogmatic religions? And if so, how can we reconnect to that innate ability, our individual human heritage? Can we allow for the possibility that there is more to our earthly being than we “think”?

First have a look at the rhomboid or diamond shapes (sometimes “kite”, lozenge) as it appears throughout our world and throughout time and then feel into the questions posed……Turn your inner eye towards the experiences within your body and first feel within and then try to locate where there is a stirring in your physical vessel when your eyes see the photographs…..Everything else will be up to yourself to follow your curiosity about your true Self; ”ask and it will be given” and  “seek and ye shalt find” (Matt. 7:7)…

I came to this article because throughout my life I have collected stones and crystals. I’ve always come across the rhombus shape. I hadn’t found any because I hadn’t looked in a long time until a couple days ago. Today I thought I’d look into the shape and here I am! Thank you for your insight

This morning I saw this symbol with my third eye in my ceiling. This is the second symbol that appeared to me like that in the last 5 years. The first one was a triangle. I believe it is the result of a next step I just passed.

i have this rhombus shape on my right bum and i just noticed my son has the same birthmark as mine right in the middle of his back while was bathing him , he has a light one nd mine is dark i guess its because of me being lighter than he is. this is how my curiosity led me to coming across this article and wow i have learned a lot of stuff i didn’t know

Our Heavenly Father lead me to this very article. I have been studying the female/male dynamics of the marriage covenant. Yin/yang. This hit so many of the points. We are one. From the same body. Adam&Eve. One spirit. God is so good. And so much more complex than we can fathom and “He” loves us dearly just like any set of parents should. Protector/nurturer. Amen

A power structure should not condemn a human being by giving him a name containing these kinds of symbols. It is cruel, treacherous and does not show any kind of respect for life. My whole life is a joke because there’s this hidden symbol in my name. Does the Universe intend to indemnify me for a life dedicated to people, regardless of my will? Does the Universe intend to indemnify me for a life governed by a name, without my having been properly instructed about that name? All this can be very beautiful in a post, but in real life this kind of thing destroys the life of a person who carries this symbol. I have nothing, no career, no assets, no wife, no friends, nothing, thanks to a power structure that uses human beings as pawns in a cruel game.

Wow! Its so amazing to read all of these comments. Like others, I stumbled on this article by chance as I was desperately trying to learn more about the ancient symbolism/meaning of the kite/diamond shape. I fall into trance conditions easily and effortlessly at times. I also have an aptitude for astral projection without prompt, visions coming to me when I didn’t go looking for them, and a load of other strange interdimensional experiences. I’ve always known my experiences are not based from mental illness or schizophrenia.

Last night I fell into a trance state and was very “out of body”, when all of a sudden an elongated kite/diamond shape appeared in my third eye.. It was like looking into a portal. It began to stretch itself at the north and south nodes, stretching further and further. I literally felt my consciousness bending with it. I also kept having the telepathic message of “two” and “twins” sent to me as I was experiencing the ever expanding elongated kite in my third eye. Earlier in the week, I had a genuine vision of easter eggs of all things, falling from the sky. I was trying to catch them.. One was opened and inside of it was a double yolked egg. So this concept of “two” and “twin” keeps getting relayed to me. While not religious, I feel that the falling easter eggs clearly are pointing towards some sort of resurrection on or within the earth. A few months ago, I also had a strange “keyhole” inside of a pyramid with a type of beacon on top of it come to my third eye as well. None of these things are things I stare at in books or read about, so I can at the very least say the seed wasn’t planted from my own research or studies… I didn’t go looking for it in an attempt to manifest these depictions. They come to me naturally! 🙂

Wow, this article really resonates with me. I woke up this morning, having dreamt that i should draw a rhombus, with a line leading from top and one from the bottom, on my right hand at wrist level, near the thumb – it was very specific!- i had no clue what it meant, but i did it, now reading your article – it makes so much sense, i will need to really digest everything you have said, but thank you so much xx

Thank you so much for this knowledge. I have had a very long spiritual journey to find my balance and harmony. The peace within.
I am designing a garden, with lot of help from my guides. It incorporates so many sacred geometry symbols that I had to look up most of the meanings . Now I know why 4 rhombus are near the centre in the design. I am a truth seeker. The design is called Goddess of Light, and has a quartz cairn water feature at the centre. When it is completed I believe it will help all to awaken to the Truth.

I’ve seen the symbol several times during meditation but today I’ve made intuitively the symbol using my body (arm and leg) formed a rhombus, inside it other rhombus appeared, concentrical. I’ve entered into it. I really have no appropriate words to describe how I’ve felt. Consciousness, everything and nothing all together ❤️ thank you for your work ?

I came by this article “accidentaly”…lol… good insight & thank you for sharing your thoughts.
I have been seeing the rhombus shape lately, accompanied by a blue-red-purple haze and also a piramide/triangle inside a sphere/circle. It might seem strange but I keep seeing light body beeings (we are all light and love in our true essence) and images of 3 rhombus shapes. I intuitivley know that in the rhombus form it is a portal to different planes, times and places, and the piramide inside the sphere is a vechicle.

I saw a couple of comments made recently saying they have a rhombus birthmark, so interesting… Because I have a perfect rhombus birthmark at the center of my back, I only noticed it not long ago and find this article when I was searching for its meaning. I should definitely explore more of this symbol intuitively

Wow. I have a perfect diamond shaped birthmark on my left upper arm. It has gotten darker and more noticeable as I’ve gotten older. I am on a spiritual path and a seeker of hidden sacred knowledge and truths. I’ve always wondered if there is a deeper meaning to having this birthmark…I guess I’ve always had an inner knowing that their is, but haven’t, until now, found any metaphysical/spiritual/esoteric info regarding it.
Thank you for writing and publishing this article!

I’ve been thinking deeply about how a a male being needs to balance his Yang self with his inner Yin energies, and also surrendering our Yang to our Yin. These two concepts seem fundamentally opposed, when in fact they are simply multi-dimensional facets of the ego as you have so articulately described. I believe we need open ourselves to the very real connection between rhombi and bussy. Only by turning our inner eye towards the bussy, can we truly restore inner and outer balance. Thank you.

I’ve been trying to find what the rhombus on my arm meant and this could be a possibility towards it’s meaning. A friend of mine said oh, it’s just something all females have. Well I don’t think so cause I don’t remember having a rhombus there before for as long as I can remember then one day I noticed it there. I had many questions along with the dreams I’ve had which by the way didn’t involve any rhombus, like that dream I’ve had about that orb or ball which was given to me by un-humanly tall figures, I was holding it like a basketball right there under my arm. I was being congratulated like as if I’ve earned something or it was an honor, it felt like I was royalty or in other words has a similar feeling to that like I was important. It’s been years but I remember that as if I dreamed it last night. But sorry if I’ve gotten off topic but I was just wanting to put that out there and possibly get some more answers about all of this.

This is a wild. I was in Florida I was in a hotel with my parents and my aunt and I had a dream that there was a box floating above our bed and on each corner of the box there was the rhombus shape, each of them was glowing like light and we represented the four rhombus shapes. I didn’t understand with the dream ment until I googled it and read this article. Finding balance with the Yin and Yan. That’s so powerful I was also very inspiring. I saw this symbol on the doors of Nordstrom Rack and new it had to mean something. It was also very inspiring to read all the comments and how so many people had dreams about the shape I definitely understand that God was trying to tell us something.

I designed a quilt with many diamond shapes made with blue purple green fabrics and four tiny triangles make each diamond. All are placed in diagonal rows across the quilt with solid between. The rows are 12″ apart (sometimes I embellish empty spots) but haven’t had anything come to me.
I design intuitively, then look for the message to me. Now I think it is meant to stay empty and the design is complete.
Thank you for the shape symbolism information.

a few years ago i was woken out of a deep sleep by the sound of a mans voice saying “paint the rhombus”! … and then just recently i dreamt that a women wanted to show me something and led me to rhombus shaped earrings. She told me that wearing the rhombus will dissolve the tension in my jaw which is the root of my suffering! So, i’m extremely thankful for your explanation… its helping me put the pieces together and
understand the depth of this symbol.

I just have to share a true moment of inner awakening I had regarding this symbol. I am someone that has felt spirituality through my entire life, but never felt inclined to dive into it deeper. Long story short, I had a “bad night” the other evening. I began thinking and manifesting knowing my souls truth and true desires. I can’t explain what brought me to this but I just decided I didn’t want to be clouded by the shallow human thoughts that my human brain was attuned to thinking. For no reason, other than happiness, I wished to just know and understand myself. I felt moved to meditate, and during that mediation, I started making this symbol with my hands on the carpet as I said my affirmations. This symbol helped me push through the initial anxiety of meditating. I really can’t believe it. It just happened, seamlessly. Your explanation of this symbol is very thoughtful and helpful and I thank you for assisting me in my journey!! Best wishes to you and all other spiritual being experiencing awakening. Any recommendations or thoughts at all are welcome! Thanks for reading.

I took an intuitive drawing class. My intention in drawing was “to know the truth of who I am. Starting from the center working outwards intuiting the images. While there are many sub images in the drawing. The shape was a rhombus. I am delighted to read your insightful interpretation of the image. Spot on with is now occurring with me regarding balance. Yin/ yang and the inner psyche. Thank you and I will continue to intuit the meaning. Grateful

I can’t stop drawing this symbol it’s everywhere I check old photos of myself and in a window pattern or a shade of light it creates the shape. I’m ex-military royal artillery our colours are red over blue it stands for fire over water. In symbol terms fire over water equals a rhombus shape. I had even gone as far as designing a tattoo and even had a tattoo of the shape on my chest only to realise that the shape is hidden once again on another tattoo I had many years ago. After reading this article and the comments it feels nice that I’m not on my own and just seeing a random symbol. The problem is I like every other being goes through bad times and one thing I’m lacking is balance but it’s mad to think it could be nothing or it could be everything

      EternalSymbols

Dear Chiezny, it is no wonder then that you are attracted to this symbol as you are an ex military; the Diamond is the ultimate symbol of the HARMLESS Warrior, a warrior that is focused within and therefore harmless. Of course as a military person being part of an army following ‘fire over water’ is what is needed to serve a greater purpose of ‘good for all’ and I have great respect for all that choose to serve in this way. For an individual human being however though this shape means ‘integrating fire (thinking) into water (feeling). Then it is not red over blue but the colors integrate into 1 color; purple! The color that in antiquity only royals or emperors could wear Like the color the priest is wearing on Easter, when ‘Jesus went up into heaven” It is integrating the 2nd and 3d dimensions in self by focused Will and then one is able to cross ‘the red sea’. And it cannot be achieved when you have become still within self. These are difficult times and lots of people suffer. Focus on the stillness within and ‘what makes you tick’. Liberation is just one thought away…All the best; you matter!

      Dear Colleen,
this symbol is the Truth about all of us human beings. We have forgotten as we have reached the densest of energies on Earth but by going with self and searching for one own Truth we will awaken ourselves to the truth of our presence on Earth. It is all about acquiring a focused and balanced Will to unravel your Truth about being here…happy landing in Self

      EternalSymbols

This is very deep knowledge indeed. I know what I know intuitively. When we reconnect the 2nd (feelings, water) and 3d dimension (thinking, fire) in self is when we tilt our own inner dark Diamond and are ‘catapulted’ towards the ‘higher’ waters “northeast’ in ourselves where we meet the Truth about this world and ourselves. The beaded lapis lazuli nets that Egyptian mummies wear indicate the 5th dimension where the Crystal emanates the energies. The number corresponds to 45; all the planets in ourself that we have to elevate again within our human frequencies; a hell of a job! Thx for your work, it is awesome!

MY dream, a head/face appears out of a white background she says to me ” the answer is right in front of you” I then notice her face is outlined in a white light so I think OH, there is something behind me. I turn around to see a red and yellow shape in the corner of the room. it was floating up into the ceiling ( leaving) I see its many shapes that look like triangles or diamonds moving but they are all stuck together. In the dream I look back to the face and see 2 kids a boy and a girl, I say to the kids, ITS a soul or entity OR maybe its Mom. I say to the boy as I’m kneeling hug me, he does then to the girl, hug me. the girl is upset saying no its not mom. I feel so happy in the dream. then I wake. I couldn’t shake the image of the 2 sided triangle shapes and the colors. I especially want to know what the head meant by the answer is right in front of you. anyways this was a great read. I’ve been going through several things breaking in 2019 and a spiritual awakening. Though I’ve been spiritual all my life.

I’ve spent nearly 20 years trying to interpret a reoccurring dream about this shape, that I had as a very young child, I am now 24 years old and while reading this tears began flowing, and I got cold chills.
As a child I had thoughts without language, that I had believed came from ‘god’ that are mostly gone now, about the nature of reality and the self that were revealed to me in these dreams,as a kid, I literally didn’t have the words to tell anyone and i’ve Spent my whole life studying religions, and spirituality to end up here finally, hearing the hum of the dao purely, and finally understanding. I’m so overwhelmed with emotions I can barely type this

I just finished from my meditation and i saw and i draw the symbol that you have as a photo. The rhombus with the lines in it. It is my first time here on this website.
I am through my spiritual awakening and i have a problem with my Ego as it tries to play the “strong man” in my life to keep me safe. I knew that balance was the key but i never thought that i will find the answer this way. I never had any experience with symbols. Eventually, everything in life has a meaning. Numbers, symbols etc.
Many thanks and Love to the creators of this website and i wish you all the best.

I woke up a few days ago with a diamond shape flashing right in front of eyes, in my mind’s eye. I clearly saw the symbol and then woke up. I love symbols and there are no coincidences so I was looking for a meaning. Balancing masculine and feminine has been very much on my mind recently. And then I found myself here. Fascinating reading. Thank you.

I recently had a dream where I was given a math assignment. I’m not into math. I”m a musician. The paper asked me to work on the decomposition of a rhombs pattern.. Never knew rhombs is short for rhombus nor that decomposition was an actual thing that is done in geometry. I’m here in study of the rhombus and meaning for me:)

I’ve been seeing the rhombus almost daily and recognize it as a message, but didn’t understand the meaning or reasoning behind it. Thanks for the insight. I see it everywhere, on clothes, purses, shoes, tv shows, airplane seats, it’s been showing up a lot.

WOW…. this is amazing to read! on a viff i searched for the meaning of a rhombus.
close too 4- or 5 years ago in school while dealing with deppresion and the hard choice of who i was and what to become of me, i one day started painting the rhombus shape floating up for seas. since that day i havent stopped and i didnt even know the meaning of it, until now. Its crazy that i have allways felt like the rhombus allways meant something special to me and i can especially understand the meaning of this now, since i have allways drawn this shape in all diffrent colours during hard, sad, happy, wonderful, and frustreating time of my life, to allways find peace in paingting it.
i have allways felt a conecction to the rhombus and now the first time of my life and mysteries 5 years of paintng it, i understand. Thank you

Wow I saw rhombus vividly while meditating and wanted to understand its meaning. Thank you it’s definitely a shift in consciousness and a balance in my energy . I looked almost three years after the post and two years after the first comment. No coincidences exist!

Interesting, I was looking for the meaning of the symbol because something that I bought and this description amazingly fits with the shift I’ve had in my conciousness. And I looked exact 1 year after you posted. =)
