Peru, Sacred Valley
Peru, Sacred Valley
In Peru the landscape was used by the Incan peoples to remind the community of their life task and their true “nature”. Their daily lives were permeated with the presence of
the Divine and whenever the polarity of life announced itself by havoc in the community, conflicting energies clashing, the people were encouraged to go within and search for the “darkness” in the self in order to lift the darkness that resided within the community. All were reminded of their individual responsibility for the wellbeing of the community.
People remain people though and not everybody is prepared or chooses to do the inner work on the self so sanctions to individual members that put the cohesion and general interest of the community in jeopardy were part of daily reality. Up on the mountain, cool temperatures would preserve the grain that was harvested during the summer and the granary of the community was installed there. I was told at the site that any thief that would steal grain for self- interest and at the cost of the community would be punished by being thrown down from the top of the “angry face”.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/kk_wpg/2593816397/ for a detailed look at the granary which I will explain.
Whereas we “modern” people only see the granary and maybe also an angry face next to it, the community in the village would read the message that this mountain is conveying. It would remind the individual that the inner world creates the outer and that it was a personal choice to misbehave in regard to the community and that the group interest prevailed upon that of an individual.
The granary consists of three rows of a dual nature; an upper and a lower level that depict the duality that reigns in the lower three polarity dimensions of Earth. These three dimensions are, the physical (earth), the emotional (water)and the mental (fire)dimensions that are also present in ourselves. The fourth element, air (spirit), is found on the top of the mountain after “the food” in the lower three dimensions has been consumed. In relation to the grumpy face this granary is positioned on the left hand side of it. It is the Yin side in the physical body of the human being. As our brains are cross wired to the rest of the body , this face refers to the consciousness that is in the left side of the brain where our mental abilities reside, analytic, linear thinking, speech. But our unconsciousness also resides here and in our physical bodies.
The vista on the mountain would remind the community of the necessity of bringing duality consciousness on three levels back into balance by lifting the dark parts of the personality self and restore them into unity consciousness. Also, that we have to use our brains to do this work on our own mental concepts. When this is done the seven lower stone slabs on each level will integrate into the upper ones and thereby granting access to a deeper understanding of each level and dimension of self and of the Whole. The upper levels as then will be constituted of 10 erected slabs, 10 is considered to be the Source of Unity.
On the right hand side of the face we see only one granary and it is placed higher in relation to the left hand side. It seems to have eight stone slabs, eight for dimension of infinity. It is the right hand side of the brain where unity thinking, art, creativity and the all connectedness of people and things are perceived. The right hand side of the body though is considered Yang, the outward manifesting energy and is steered by the left brain because of the cross wiring. In this way the (unconscious) left brain, that is driven by ego energy (intention based upon unconscious motives) is shown on the angry face in the middle of the two granaries; it is the lower self of an individual acting out the dark parts of self and not serving the community in this way. This position of the granary on the right hand side encouraged the members of the community to lift unity consciousness up in the self by using the brain to deconstruct the dark, unconscious motives of self. In this way their actions would be based upon what was best for all as “the other” was considered to be a part of “Self”.
This intriguing view on the mountain thus served a double purpose: it had an outer aspect that was connected to the judicial system of the community and an inner aspect that reminded of the greater purpose of living on Earth as physical bodies. The task was (it still is) to rediscover spirit during a life time and reinstall it in the physical vessel and embody their unity……and it always was an individual choice as nobody can be forced into this work on the self.
The cross wiring of the body has been known by the ancients peoples and indigenous people of today We know of it through science but they knew because of their inner Knowledge that life on Eart is a mirror of heaven. The problem is that everything is in reverse……
